Strike a Pose 
The little “actors” in your class recreate the text book picture while the others read the caption. No props are needed. Recreating in front of the classroom text pictures with people are animals are great to engage your students in this pre-activity to a chapter or unit. Extend discussion to what the people and animals are doing, thinking, and anticipate what they will do next. Talk about the background, time period, type of portrait etc…
